Gamma Irradiated, Sterile, "Custom"
            Laboratory Animal Diets

After producing sterile custom L-Amino Acid defined laboratory animal diets for
many years, Dyets  is now able to expand our sterile product line to the research
community with sterile casein-based custom diets. These new casein-based diets
are formulated with specially prepared, sterile casein(s).  Dyets stocks both specially
prepared high nitrogen casein or vitamin-free casein for gamma irradiated diets.
Sterile (by gamma irradiation) casein-based diets are available in pellet, powder, or
liquid diet forms.

Gamma irradiation costs are typically in the $900.00/batch range (up to 1700 kg).  U.S.P.
Sterility testing charges run about $80.00 each.  Please note the following additional
information for ordering gamma-irradiated diets:

• Gamma irradiation and U.S.P. sterility testing will require 3 weeks.
• Allow 7 days for shipping (within U.S.A.)  Dyets plans to deliver all diets for gamma
  irradiation on the first working day of each month.
• All orders for gamma irradiated diets should be placed by the 20th of the preceding
  month. This will allow Dyets 10 days to prepare and package your diets before irradiation.  Use catalog number 999503 when ordering.
• Custom vacuum packaging of sterile diets (1-2 kg) can be performed for $4.00/bag.

Our specially processed high nitrogen casein or vitamin-free casein for diets to be
gamma-irradiated can be purchased separately (as an ingredient). Please call for pricing
